Who we are

Mako Showroom is the public car marketplace and storefront platform operated by Mako Strike — a dealer management SaaS based in Tasmania, Australia. This policy covers visitors to the public marketplace at makoshowroom.com, individual dealer storefronts (whether at makoshowroom.com/lot/<dealer> or a dealer's own custom domain), and individual vehicle listing pages.

What we collect

Anonymous visitor cookie (mako_visitor) — a random ID stored in a first-party cookie for 12 months. Contains no personal information. Used solely to count unique visitors and distinguish new from returning visitors in our internal analytics. Not shared with any third party.
Page-view records — for each page visit we log: the URL visited, your IP address, an approximate location (country and city) derived from that IP address, your browser's user-agent string, the referring URL (if any), your anonymous visitor ID, and a timestamp. Retained for 90 days. Used solely to show our dealers how their storefronts are performing.
Event records — when you interact with the site (submit an enquiry, click a phone number or email link, apply a search filter, scroll through a vehicle page, etc.), we record the event type, the page, your anonymous visitor ID, your IP address and approximate location, and a timestamp. Retained for 90 days.
Enquiry form submissions — if you submit an enquiry to a dealer, your name, phone, email and message are stored and sent to that dealer. We do not use this for marketing.

What we don't collect

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party advertising trackers.
We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
We do not track you across other websites.

Cookies

We use exactly one cookie — mako_visitor — described above. It is a strictly-necessary first-party analytics cookie and does not require a consent banner under the Australian Privacy Act or the EU GDPR.

Your rights

You can clear your visitor cookie at any time by clearing your browser cookies for this site. To request deletion of any enquiry you've submitted, contact the dealer directly or email us via the contact details on our marketplace page.

Data retention

Analytics (page views + events): 90 days
Enquiry submissions: kept by the dealer until they archive or delete them
Visitor cookie: 12 months in your browser; cleared when you clear cookies
